Exemplaire sur un flan extrêmement large, légèrement décentré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait juvénile de Véjovis. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine grise avec des reflets dorés

Reverse description : Minerve dans un quadrige galopant à droite, brandissant une javeline transversale de la main droite et tenant les rênes et un bouclier de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Caius Licinius Lucii Filius Macer”, (Caius Licinius fils de Lucius Macer).

LICINIA

(84 BC)

The Licinia gens is a plebeian family from Rome. Lucius Licinius Macer is a historian of the first half of the 1st century BC. Annalist, he wrote a history of Rome in 16 books, of which only fragments remain. He is also a brilliant speaker. Quaestor in 78 BC, tribune of the plebs in 73 then praetor in 68 BC, he became provincial governor. When he left office, he was accused of extortion by Cicero and preferred to commit suicide in 66 BC before the verdict was given..
