Ce denier est frappé sur un flan assez régulier. Exemplaire recouvert d’une jolie patine grise. La croix du droit apparaît en négatif au revers. Reliefs plus nets au droit qu’au revers

From 954, Lothaire ceded Aquitaine to Hugh the Great and tried to fight against the rise of feudalism. He ends up falling out with Hugh Capet (duke 956-987, king 987-996), son of Hugh the Great, because he is more powerful than his suzerain. At the beginning of the reign of Louis IV (936-954), a new monetary reform would have changed the size of the denarii to 360 coins per pound of 18 ounces.
