Mêmes coins que l’exemplaire de l’American Numismatic Society provenant de la collection Newell et reproduit dans l’ouvrage de Desneux (ANS. 4 = Desneux, 9,pl. V). Notre exemplaire a été frappé après celui de l’ANS, car le carré creux s’est légèrement détérioré au revers.

Acanthe, founded in the 7th century BC, was a colony of Andros, an island in the Aegean Sea located on the peninsula of Acté. The workshop had a very important production from the end of the 6th century BC thanks to the mines which were in this region.
