Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portait de Magnus Maximus. Joli revers bien venu à la frappe, servi par la patine. Très belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

Obverse description : Buste diadémé, drapé et cuirassé de Magnus Maximus à droite vu de trois quarts en avant (A'a) ; diadème perlé.
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Magnus Maximus Pius Felix Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Magnus Maximus pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse


Reverse legend : VIRTVS RO-MANORVM/ -|-// TRPS.
Reverse description : Rome casquée et drapée, trônant de face, tenant un globe de la main droite et un sceptre de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Virtus Romanorum”, (La virilité des Romains).

Commentary


Exemplaire de bon poids pour ce type. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Cabochon rond perlé du diadème. Ptéryges larges. Un exemplaire comparable s’est vendu 307€ dans MONNAIES XXVI, n° 498 sur un maximum à 361€.
