Exemplaire sur un flan large et irrégulier, échancré à 8 heures. Beau buste de Marius. Joli revers avec une faiblesse de frappe sur la légende

Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Marius à droite vu de trois quarts en avant (A).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Cæsar Marius Pius Felix Augustus”, (L'empereur césar Marius pieux et heureux auguste).

Reverse


Reverse legend : SAEC - F-ELICITAS.
Reverse description : Felicitas (la Félicité) debout à gauche, tenant de la main droite un caducée et de la gauche une corne d'abondance.
Reverse translation : “Sæculi Felicitas”, (La Félicité du siècle).

Commentary


Poids très léger. Avec son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3. Ptéryges invisibles sous le paludamentum.

It seems that Marius rebels against Postum at the end of his reign. Lélien and Postume assassinated, Marius remains alone in place. Marius is in turn quickly assassinated after a short reign, nevertheless longer than the erroneous interpretation of Augustan History (two days).
