Exemplaire sur un flan large et bien centré. Usure régulière. Beau portrait. Petite faiblesse de frappe sur la légende qui est un peu bouchée. Joli revers. Patine grise de collection ancienne

Juba I succeeded his father Hiempsal II in 60 BC Renowned for his arrogance and cruelty, he was noticed by Cicero and then quickly became Caesar's enemy. In the civil war between Pompey and Caesar, he sided with the former. Beaten at Thapsus in 46 BC, he fled, then was killed or committed suicide. His kingdom was conquered and did not become independent again until more than twenty years later with his son, Juba II.
