Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais et bien centré. Très beau portrait de haut relief bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers à l’usure superficielle. Très jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

(60-46 BC)

Juba I succeeded his father Hiempsal II in 60 BC Renowned for his arrogance and cruelty, he was noticed by Cicero and then quickly became Caesar's enemy. In the civil war between Pompey and Caesar, he sided with the former. Beaten at Thapsus in 46 BC, he fled, then was killed or committed suicide. His kingdom was conquered and did not become independent again until more than twenty years later with his son, Juba II.
