Monnaie sur un flan épais, centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait de Cérès ainsi qu’un revers bien venu à la frappe. Patine grise

Caius Memmius belongs to the senatorial aristocracy. For a long time he was believed to be the grandson of Sylla and consul suffect in 34 BC. He would in fact be the nephew of Pompey, son of C. Memmius, quaestor in 76 BC, finding death the next year. Monetary magistrate in 57 BC, he will be tribune of the plebs in 54 BC..
