Cet objet provient d’un antiquaire de Toulouse, ancien officier russe blanc, dans les années 1940 et indiqué comme provenant d’un trésor associé avec des histamena nomisma d’électrum trouvé en Crimée avant 1914 par le général Berthier Delagarde (1842-1920) et aurait été améné en France dans les années 1920

Cette coupelle faisant penser à un demi-globe est percée de trois petits trous sur le haut à 5, 8 et 12 heures par rapport à l’empreinte du fond avec un diamètre maximum de 49,5 mm et une hauteur de 25,5 à 26,5 mm. Analysé, la coupelle a un titre de 58,5% d’or (14 carats) et de 40,8% d’argent. Le poids est proche des onze solidi (48,46 g pour 49,61 g). Il pourrait s’agir d’un élément (plateau) de balance monétaire pour le pesée des histamena.
