Frappées par la Monnaie de Paris, ces monnaies sont des “monnaies de prestige” émises à l’occasion des 25 ans de règne du prince Rainier III. Une partie de la fabrication a été refondue.

Historical background
MONACO - PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO - RAINIER III
(1949-2005)
Rainier III (1921-2005) succeeded his grandfather Louis II on November 9, 1949. In 1956, he married the American actress Grace Kelly who became Princess Grace (who died in 1982). Under his reign, the Principality was modernized. His son Albert II succeeds him.
