Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés avec une faiblesse de frappe à 6 heures des deux côtés. Très beau portrait de Popée. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Historical background
NERO and POPPAEA
Poppea was married to Otho when she became Nero's mistress. The husband was sent as governor to Lusitania and Nero got rid of Octavie, his wife, the daughter of Claudius and Messalina in order to be able to marry Poppea. His new wife gave him a daughter, Claudia, but who died four months after her birth in 63. Again pregnant, Poppea was killed by her husband who had kicked her in the stomach according to Suetonius.
