Obverse description : Croix à double traverse cantonnée de deux besants.

Reverse

Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Reverse description : Fronton dont chaque pointe est prolongée par une croix. Un besant au centre. Les trois côtés du fronton sont accostés des lettres PAX contenues dans un cercle.

Commentary

Ce denier est attribué à Guillaume le Conquérant en raison de la similitude avec les esterlins anglais présentant des lettres PAXS et frappés vers 1086-1087. Un denier similaire a été publié dans la Revue Numismatique 1979, pl. XX, n° 23.
