Ce denier est frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Exemplaire recouvert d’une patine grise de médaillier et présentant quelques faiblesses de frappe

Reverse description : Temple tétrastyle avec un fronton triangulaire sommé d'une croisette, une croix au centre posée sur deux degrés.

Commentary

Légendes dégénérées. Ces deniers sont donnés à la Normandie en raison de leur présence dans les trésors de Saint-Taurin d’Évreux et de celui de Coudres près d’Évreux. Celui de Saint-Taurin présentait aussi des deniers de Rouen au nom de Louis. Il s’agit d’imitation de denier de Louis Le Pieux à la légende XRISTIANA RELIGIO certainement produites en Normandie. Dominique Legros a repris cette attribution.
