The Opimia gens is a family of plebeian origin. In 131 AC, Marcus Opimius was triumvir monetalis, the same year as his brother, Lucius Opimius. The latter is identified as one of the two consuls of the year 121 AC He is one of the main opponents of the agrarian reforms of the Gracchi.
