Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête taillée à la serpe. Bien centré au revers, légèrement stylisé. Patine de collection ancienne

Commentary


Au droit, Apollon porte la taenia au lieu de la couronne et la tête semble ornée d’une moustache. Frappé avec un coin bouché au revers. Même coin que l’exemplaire de la collection Mc Lean du Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, n° 3696, pl. 137, n° 15.

The kingdom of Peonia obtained its independence after the death of Perdiccas III, king of Macedon in 359 BC. 315 AC.), were turbulent neighbours. After the death of Audoleon (315-286 AC.), Peonia was reunited with Macedonia.
