Commentary

Type sans symbole ou monogramme. Représentation inhabituelle de l’égide complète avec la tête de Méduse qui était placée soit sur la cuirasse ou le bouclier d’Athéna. D’après Hoover ce type pourrait avoir été frappé à Amastris par les partisans de Mithridates VI du Pont entre 105-90 et 90-85 avant J.-C. Ce type semble d’ailleurs beaucoup plus rare pour cette cité.
