Exemplaire sur un grand flan bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait. Revers de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Jolie patine marron foncé

Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Philippe II à droite, vu de trois quarts en arrière (A2).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Marcus Iulius Philippus Cæsar ”, (L’empereur Marc Jules Philippe césar).

Reverse legend : P M S C-OL VIM// AN VIII.
Reverse description : La Mésie debout de face tournée à gauche, placée devant un taureau à gauche tourné à droite et un lion à droite tourné à gauche.

Augustus

Philip II, son of Philip the Arab and Otacilia Severa, was named Augustus in 247. He participated in the commemoration of the millennium of Rome which began on April 21, 247. Philip, his father, was killed at the battle of Verona . Philip II was assassinated shortly thereafter. We do not know what happened to Otacilia Sévéra. Philip II was made Caesar shortly after the accession of his father who awarded him the title of prince of youth.
