Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, parfaitement centré. Très beau portrait pour ce type monétaire souvent fruste. Joli revers quasi SUP. Magnifique patine marron foncé

Reverse legend : LIBERALITAS AVGG III// S C.
Reverse description : Philippe père et fils assis à gauche sur un banc ou des chaises curules, vêtus de la toge, tendant la main droite et tenant un sceptre court de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Liberalitas Augustorum tertium”, (La troisième Libéralité des augustes).

Augustus
Philip II, son of Philip the Arab and Otacilia Severa, was named Augustus in 247. He participated in the commemoration of the millennium of Rome which began on April 21, 247. Philip, his father, was killed at the battle of Verona . Philip II was assassinated shortly thereafter. We do not know what happened to Otacilia Sévéra. Philip II was made Caesar shortly after the accession of his father who awarded him the title of prince of youth.
