Commentary

Karol Józef Wojtyła (1902-2005) est un prêtre polonais. Devenu cardinal, il est élu pape le 16 octobre 1978 sous le nom de Jean-Paul II.
Béatifié le 1er mai 2011 par le pape Benoît XVI, il est canonisé par le pape François le 27 avril 2014. Il est donc considéré comme saint par l'Église catholique et fêté le 22 octobre, date de son intronisation pontificale..
