Commentary

Dimensions de la boîte : 55,5*30,5 mm (74,5 mm avec l’anneau). L’intérieur est doré. L’intérieur permet de ranger des 10 et 20 francs or, l’emplacement est doré et guilloché, la mention EXTRA BLANC est visible entre les deux.
L’exemplaire n’est pas signé mais le style de l’objet nous laisse à penser que ce porte louis fait partie de la série végétale élaborée par Jean-Baptiste Émile Dropsy.
Jean-Baptiste Émile Dropsy (1848-1923) est un graveur. Il entama son apprentissage de graveur sur métaux à Paris quai de Jemmapes auprès de la société Lemoine. Ce porte-louis décoré et gravé par Jean Baptiste Émile Dropsy permettait de ranger facilement plusieurs napoléons de 10 francs OR et de 20 francs OR à l’aide d’un système à ressorts.
