Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur flan épais bien centré. Très beau portrait de Postume. Revers bien venu à la frappe finement détaillé. Très jolie patine de collection avec reflets dorés. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
