Exemplaire frappé sur un flan quadrangulaire. Joli droit et revers inhabituel. Patine marron foncé

Obverse legend : IMP C M CASS LAT POSTVMVS P F AVG.
Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Postume à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Cæsar Marcus Cassius Latinius Postumus Pius Felix Augustus”, (L'empereur césar Marcus Cassius Latinius Postume pieux heureux auguste).
Reverse
Reverse legend : VIT-ORI-A A-VG (SIC!).
Reverse description : Victoria (la Victoire) courant à gauche, tenant une couronne de la main droite et une palme posée contre l’épaule gauche de la main gauche ; à ses pieds à gauche, un captif assis à gauche, les mains liées dans le dos.
Reverse translation : “Victoria Augusti”, (La Victoire de l’auguste).

POSTUMUS

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
