Exemplaire frappé sur un flan extrêmement large pour une imitation aussi tardive ! Monnaie plus proche stylistiquement du minimus mais pourtant, sur un flan qui ne fait aucun doute ! Patine marron foncé

Type unique, ultime dégénérescence du double sesterce. C’est sans aucun doute le double sesterce le plus “barbare” que nous ayons proposé à la vente ! Ne se rapproche de près ou de loin à aucun exemplaire du Bastien.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
