Commentary

La Prison Saint-Lazare est une prison située au 107 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis à Paris. Initialement tenues par les Lazaristes et destinée aux “fils de famille”, elle devient sous la Révolution une véritable prison et le théâtre de la Conspiration des Prisons sous la Terreur. Après la Terreur, elle devient une prison pour femmes qui est fermée en 1927.
