Commentary

Lors de l’apparition des machines parlantes à la fin du XIX et au début du XX siècle, la question de leurs diffusion s’est posé. Un certain nombre de marchands de phonos et de cylindres/disques se sont équipés de dispositifs d’audition pour leurs clients, parfois dans des lieux dédiés. Des commerçants plus petits et pas directement liés à des marques phonographiques comme Pathé ou Gramophone proposaient des dispositifs similaires. C’est le cas par exemple de Palace -Chanson, salle d’audition située au 27, boulevard de Strasbourg. Il suffisait d’acheter un jeton et d’aller écouter musique ou chanson. .
