Cette obole est frappée sur un flan large et irrégulier. Exemplaire présentant quelques faiblesses de frappe et recouvert d’une patine grise

Obole achetée il y a plus de 15 ans dans une brocante dans la région de Laon et qui n’avait pas été identifiée avant sa présentation à la CGB début juillet 2021

Commentary

Du plus haut intérêt historique pour le monnayage du roi Raoul et pour le monnayage de Laon à l’époque carolingienne. Le denier, particulièrement rare, était connu, mais pas l’obole.
