Bel exemplaire avec un avers un peu décentré, mais intéressant, associé à un revers complet. Agréable patine brune et brillante

Cet exemplaire est particulièrement intéressant avec deux grènetis au droit, ce qui témoigne d’un coin à empreintes multiples ; c’est la première fois que nous en rencontrons un sur cette série !.

(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Remi were one of the most powerful peoples of Gaul and loyal allies of the Romans. The territory of the Rèmes extended over present-day Champagne, along the Aisne. They had for neighbors the Atuatuci, the Treveri, the Mediomatrics, the Lingones, the Suessions, the Bellovaci and the Nervians. They denounced to Caesar the coalition of Belgian peoples of 57 BC which included the Suessions who shared the same laws and the same magistrates. Their main oppidum was Bibrax. The capital of the civitas in Gallo-Roman times was Durocortorum (Reims). Caesar (BG. II, 3-5, 7, 12; III, 11; V, 3, 24, 53, 54, 56; VI, 4, 12, 44; VII, 63, 90; VIII, 6, 11) . Strabo (G. IV, 3, 5).
