Historical background

ROMANUS IV DIOGENES

(1/01/1068-19/08/1071)

By dying on May 21, 1067, Constantin X Ducas left a wife, Eudocia, and three sons, Michael VII, Constance and Andronicus. Eudocia was regent from the end of May to the end of December 1067 and married Roman IV on January 1, 1068. Unfortunately, the Emperor was taken prisoner while fighting against the Turks in 1071. Eudocia was again regent for four months before going into exile. Michael ruled alone until 1078.
