Sylla takes Athens and, after the battles of Chaeronea and Orchomene, signs the peace of Dardanus with Mithridates VI of Pontus (120-63 BC). Nicomedes IV of Bithynia (94-74 BC) and Ariobarzanes I of Cappadocia (95-63 BC) are restored. Catullus and Sallust were both born in 86 BC.
