Reverse description : Croix formée de quatre écus couronnés, en 1 et 4 d'Angleterre, en 2 d'Écosse, en 3 d'Irlande et de quatre sceptres.

Commentary

En 1847, une motion du parlement de Westminster est présentée pronant la création d’un système monétaire décimal comprenant des monnaies d’un dixième et d’un centième de livre. La motion est repoussée mais le “Florin” valant un dixième de Livre est introduit en 1849 pour tester l’opinion.
Ce n’est qu’en 1968 que le système décimal sera introduit..
