EIl s’agit d’une monnaie de fantaisie.
En 1812, la Compagnie ruse d’Amérique fonde un établissement à Fort Ross en Californie du Nord. Les Espagnols construisent alors des présidios pour barrer l’accès vers le sud aux Russes. En 1841, l’établissement peu rentable et mal approvisionné est vendu à John Sutter.
