Obverse description : Buste diadémé et drapé de Sabine à droite avec la queue de cheval, vu de trois quarts en avant (L5).
Obverse translation : “Sabina Augusta Hadriani Augusti Pater Patriæ”, (Sabine auguste femme d’Hadrien père de la patrie).

Reverse legend : CONCOR-DIA AVG.
Reverse description : Concordia (la Concorde) assise à gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite, le coude gauche appuyé sur une statue de Spes ; une corne d’abondance sous le siège.
Reverse translation : “Concordia Augusti”, (La Concorde de l’auguste).

Commentary


Il existe de nombreuses variétés pour le type CONCORDIA AVG : avec ou sans corne d’abondance sous le trône ; avec ou sans la statuette de Spes sur laquelle se repose alors la Concorde.

Sabine is the daughter of Matidie and the granddaughter of Marciane, sister of Trajan. Hadrian, pupil of Trajan, marries the great-niece of his tutor in 100. The couple has no children. Sabine receives the title of augusta in 128 only. She dies at the end of the year 136.
