Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait. Revers de style fin. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés granuleuse

Obverse description : Buste diadémé et drapé de Sabine à droite avec la queue de cheval, vu de trois quarts en avant (L4).
Obverse translation : “Sabina Augusta”, (Sabine augusta).

Reverse


Reverse legend : CONCOR-DIA - AVG.
Reverse description : Concordia (la Concorde) debout à gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et une corne d’abondance de la main gauche ; le bras gauche appuyé sur une colonne.
Reverse translation : “Concordia Augustæ”, (La Concorde de l’augusta).

Commentary


Ce type semble plus rare que ne le laissent paraître les ouvrages généraux. Dans l’ouvrage de P. V. Hill, il n’est pas repris, mais doit venir s’intercaler après le n° 640. Au revers de cet exemplaire, le drapé tombe bizarrement.

Sabine is the daughter of Matidie and the granddaughter of Marciane, sister of Trajan. Hadrian, pupil of Trajan, marries the great-niece of his tutor in 100. The couple has no children. Sabine receives the title of augusta in 128 only. She dies at the end of the year 136.
