Monnaie frappée sur un flan large et régulier. Haut relief au droit et au revers. Jolie patine grise, surtout au droit. Deux petits éclatements à la périphérie du flan à 7 et 8 heures résultant d'une frappe vigoureuse

HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - CHARLES IV OF LUXEMBOURG KING OF THE ROMANS

(1347-1355)

Charles IV (1319-1378), the son of Jean II the Blind killed at the Battle of Crécy (1346), is King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg (1346-1378), King of the Romans (1347/1355) at the death of Ludwig IV of Bavaria and Holy Roman Emperor (1355-1378). He is the son-in-law of Charles de Valois because he married Blanche de Valois (+1348), the brother-in-law of Philippe VI de Valois and of the future Jean II le Bon by his sister Judith (+1349). He is the uncle of Charles V. He married four times and his son, Wenceslas IV (1361-1419), succeeded him in 1378.
