(1569-1604)

The Palatinate-Deux-Ponts (in German: Pfalz-Zweibrücken) is a former state of the Holy Roman Empire created by the merger of the territories controlled by the Palatine counts of the Rhine with part of the county of Deux-Ponts in 1394. This principality, whose boundaries have often varied, consisted of the town of Deux-Ponts and those of Annweiler, Berg-Zabern with their surroundings and Alsatian bailiwicks (remained bipontines but under French sovereignty after the policy of meetings) until in 1789 (bailliages of Bischwiller, Seltz, Cleebourg and Petite-Pierre); later it increased from the county of Sponheim and the greater part of that of Veldenz..
