Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Très jolie tête de Perséphone. Revers inhabituel. Belle patine vert foncé épaisse

Commentary


Ce type était précédemment attribué à Hikétas ou à Hiéron II. Il faut le rendre à la quatrième République. Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

We have little information on the fourth republic (289-287 BC), a short period between the reigns of Agathokles and Hiketas, before the arrival of Pyrrhus in Sicily. The exiles were recalled. It does not appear that gold, electrum or silver coins were made during this "interregnum".
