Médaille ayant été nettoyée. Petite usure. Présence de quelques rayures

Obverse legend : EXPOSITION NATIONALE SUISSE GENEVE 1896.

Obverse description : Tête à gauche d’Helvetia laurée de fruits et fleurs HELVETIA inscrit sur le ruban qui lui descend sur l’épaule signé Georges Hantz.

Reverse

Reverse legend : USINE GENEVOISE DE DEGROSSISSAGE D’OR.

Reverse description : Blason de Genève sous un IHS rayonnant encadré d’une couronne de laurier ouverte, signé GH.

Commentary

Le plus intéressant est qu’il a été fabriqué exactement aux mesures d’une 10 centimes Union Latine standard, module que les Suisses n’ont jamais adopté, restant sur un diamètre plus petit et en métal blanc. On ne peut d’ailleurs s’empêcher de penser, en le regardant, aux essais de 10 centimes du concours de 1848 en France.
