Exemplaire sur un flan large et bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait. Revers bien venu avec un Apollon massif. Patine gris clair avec des reflets métalliques dorés

Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire reproduit dans l’ouvrage de Newell (ESM. 148, pl. XIV, n° 1). Un exemplaire similaire s’est vendu 450€ dans MONNAIES XVIII, n° 126.

SYRIA - SELEUKID KINGDOM - ANTIOCHUS I SOTER
(280-261 BC)
Antiochus, associated with his father Seleucus (323-280 AC.) from 293 BC for the satrapies of the East, remained only king after his death. He won a brilliant victory against the Galatians in 273 BC for which he received the title of Soter (the Saviour). He could not prevent the sedition of Philetario who guarded the treasure at Pergamon. His son Antiochus II succeeded him (261-246 AC.).
