Exemplaire sur un flan large, centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait. avec la stemma visible Revers de style fin, bien venu à la frappe. Très belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Reverse description : Zeus Olympios nicéphore assis à gauche sur un siège sans dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, les jambes parallèles, tenant de la main droite une Niké qui couronne la légende et de la main gauche un sceptre long.
Reverse legend : BASILEWS/ ANTIOCOU/ EUPATAROU.
Reverse translation : (du roi Antiochus qui aime son père).

SYRIA - SELEUCID KINGDOM - ANTIOCHUS V EUPATOR

(164-161 BC)

Antiochus V Eupator is the son of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. He succeeded his father at the age of nine in 164 BC. Demetrios I Soter, the son of Seleucus IV, hostage in Rome since his father's reign. He claimed the throne and escaped from Rome in order to win it back. Finally poor Antiochus V was murdered.
