After the elimination of Alexandre I Bala, the general Diodote made proclaim the son of Alexandre, Antiochus VI Dionysos, while Demetrius II Nicator was him also raised with the power. After a reign of three years, Diodotus had Antiochus assassinated and took the diadem as Tryphon. After four years of reign, he was overthrown by Antiochus VII Sidetes, brother of Demetrius, then captive of the Parthians.
