Très bel exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés. Petite cassure de coin sur le nez de Dionysos. Amphore bien venue à la frappe. Patine grise

Commentary


Ce type pourrait avoir été frappés pour les Maliens à Lamia. Cependant, dans la collection BCD, ce type représenté par un seul exemplaire, n° 124 est bien attribué à Lamia. Semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

Lamia, located on the Achelous River at the bottom of the Lamiaque Gulf (Malian) was the city of the Malians. Its scarce coinage runs over the 4th century BC and stops when Thessaly enters the Macedonian orbit.
