Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un petit flan épais, bien centré au droit, un peu court au revers. Très beaux portraits. Revers de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Très jolie patine de médaillier

THRACE - ISTROS
(4th - 2nd century BC)
Istros, a Milesian colony, located equidistant from Callatis and the mouths of the Danube, is in Lower Moesia. The Greek name gave its Latin name to the Danube (Danuvius). The two juvenile heads, comparable to the Dioscuri (Gemini), represent the mouths of the Danube (Ister).
