Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un flan bien centré, un peu court sur les légendes au revers. Portrait stylisé tout à fait extraordinaire, bien venu à la frappe. Revers légèrement stylisé de style fin. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

Historical background
THRACE - ODESSOS
(3rd - 1st century BC)
Osupers was a Milesiac colony, placed on the banks of the Pont-Euxin. It had an independent coinage from the end of the 2nd century BC but most of its coins are tetradrachms imitating those of Alexander the Great which were minted in the course of the 3rd century and then during the reign of Mithridates VI (120-63 AC.). The coinage seems to be interrupted then to resume in the imperial period.
