Poid très léger. Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux. C’est la première fois que nous proposons ce type à la vente.

Historical background

THRACE - ODESSOS

(3rd - 1st century BC)

Osupers was a Milesiac colony, placed on the banks of the Pont-Euxin. It had an independent coinage from the end of the 2nd century BC but most of its coins are tetradrachms imitating those of Alexander the Great which were minted in the course of the 3rd century and then during the reign of Mithridates VI (120-63 AC.). The coinage seems to be interrupted then to resume in the imperial period.
