Ce type appartient bien à la même série que les monnaies divisionnaires suivantes et doit bien être daté dans la seconde moitié du IVe siècle avant J.-C..

Gergis was not very far from Ilion (Troy) and is certainly confused with the site of Bali-Dagh (Klio 1909, p.10). Attalus I of Pergame installed the inhabitants of Gergis in a new city after 241 BC..
