Obverse description : Au centre, un écu divisé en quatre parties : en premier et dernier quart, le blason de la ville de Péronne représentant un “P” majuscule couronné, entouré de trois fleurs de lys ; en deuxième quart la Légion d’Honneur ; en troisième quart, la Croix de Guerre 1914-1918. De chaque côté, deux chiens griffons (symbôle de fidélité) debout tenant l’écu. L’écu est surmonté d’une couronne aux quatre tours d’où trône une jeune fille armée d’un sabre dans sa main droite. Au-dessus, dans une banderolle, la devise : VRBS NESCIA VINCI (Ville qui ignore la défaite). Sous l’écu, des épis de blé et des branches de roseaux. A droite, le long du listel, le nom du graveur : THEVENON. A l’exergue, l’année : 1922..
