Obverse description : Buste casqué, diadémé, drapé et cuirassé de Valentinien II à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant, tenant une haste transversale de la main droite et le bouclier de la main gauche (D’7a) ; diadème perlé.
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Valentinianus Pius Felix Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Valentinien pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse legend : GLORIA RO-MANORVM/(COURONNE)|-//CON.
Reverse description : Valentinien II, casqué vêtu militairement, le manteau flottant; la main droite levée debout à gauche sur une galère conduit par la Victoire.
