Cette obole est frappée sur un flan large et irrégulier. Exemplaire recouvert d’une jolie patine grise de médaillier. Quelques motifs apparaissent en négatif sur la face opposée

Obverse description : Châtel carré renversé avec un annelet dans sa partie supérieure, portant une rosace en cœur et un V avec annelet au-dessous.
Obverse translation : (Bouchard, comte).

Reverse legend : + VIDOCINENSIS.
Reverse description : Croix cantonnée au 2 d’un croissant sur un besant.
Reverse translation : (de Vendôme).

Commentary


Cette rare obole a été frappée entre 1315 et 1320, juste avant que Bouchard VI ne vende ses droits monétaires au roi de France.

Bouchard VI, (VII for most authors), was the last count to mint coins in Vendôme. In 1320, Bouchard VI sold his right to mint coins to the King of France.
