Coments on the condition:
Statère sur un flan large, avec un droit de frappe molle mais un beau revers de frappe vigoureuse. Métal allié, avec une patine un peu hétérogène

Obverse description : Tête stylisée à droite avec des cordons perlés ; un sorte de loup (?) cimier dans la coiffure.

Reverse description : Cheval androcéphale à droite, conduit par un aurige ; une tête coupée à droite entre les jambes du cheval ; un annelets perlé et pointé en guise de vexillum.
Commentary
Ce type est excessivement rare ; l’exemplaire du Nouvel Atlas est celui de la vente Vinchon du 29 octobre 2002, n° 32 (vendue 9150€ TTC) qui est aussi celui dessiné en 1852 dans l’ouvrage de P. L. Lemière “Essai sur les monnaies gauloises de la Bretagne armoricaine” qui appartenait à la collection du Comte de Champigny, de Morlaix.
L’attribution traditionnelle semble être en faveur des Vénètes, mais faute de provenance, il est aussi permis de proposer une attribution osisme...
Il semble que notre statère ne soit que le 3e exemplaire signalé après celui de Lemière en 1852 et le BN. 5949B. Il est intéressant de ne constater aucune liaison de coin parmi ces trois monnaies pourtant si rares !.
