Exemplaire parfaitement identifiable, mais sur un flan court et épais, avec des types incomplets. Épaisse patine granuleuse et hétérogène, verte, sombre et rougeâtre

Commentary

Ce bronze n’est pas une imitation servile du statère d’or à l’epsilon des Nerviens, mais une adaptation du prototype (DT. 178-179 = LT. 8755-8746). Le bronze est simplifié par rapport à l’original. Parfois interprétés comme étant un faux d’époque, ce bronze appartient bien à une série à part dont l’attribution aux Viromanduens est très probable !.
